Recent months have seen many economic changes on a global scale. So far reaching are the effects of these changes that economists are calling it a "Global Financial Crisis".

Australia is becoming more affected as major product manufacturers look to other regions to offset losses in the dramatically reduced US market-place. The falling value of the Australian Dollar makes matters worse.

You have no doubt already noticed that, as a result of these factors, many manufacturers - including Brother, Sharp, HP, Canon, Oki and Xerox, to name just a few - have already increased their prices and have signaled the likelihood of still further rises.

Sadly, as the 38th largest corporation in the world, Samsung is not immune to this phenomenon, and has also announced price rises across all print products and consumable cartridges. These are likely to be split accross December 2008 and January 2009.

Some products have seen a significant price rise. Others have remained static, while a select few have actually dropped in price.

Our aim here at Elite Fax is to continue to offer competitive pricing on all cartridges, balanced with outstanding product knowledge, superior service and friendly technical phone support to loyal customers.

In line with this we have come up with the following plan to best manage this situation and lessen the pain for you.

While low stock items will generally see an immediate price rise, we will be running some clearance specials on remaining stock. Keep your eye out for these, as you'll find some significant savings while current stocks last.

For most high volume cartridges we will delay the full effect of Samsung's price increases on you by amortizing the wholesale cost of existing stock with the higher wholesale cost of new stock, so that you see several marginal increases over the next few months instead of all in one hit.

We're also introducing a range of high quality compatible cartridges as a low-cost alternative to several Samsung products. These have been thoroughly tested in our workshop, and we are confident of their quality, longevity and performance.

On top of those measures, we're happy to announce that we'll be running some promotions that will reward loyal customers and quantity orders with FREE Samsung products, such as MP3 Players and Digital Cameras.

While a price rise is never welcome, we are confident that with your continued loyal custom and our commitment to providing quality products, customer rewards and technical support long after your purchase, we can continue to work through the current downturn and look forward to more prosperous economic times ahead.
